Hey there! My name is Joseé Muldrew and I am so excited to welcome you to The Looking Glass. As I welcome you into this community that encourages self-reflection and honoring our truths, it is only right that I share with you all who I am.

I am a Black woman who is born of great stock.

I am a daughter, sister, granddaughter, friend, and many other things to many people. I was born and raised in Flint, Michigan and have had the privilege of living in many spaces that have shaped who I am. I received my B.A. in Psychology from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and earned my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine from Boston University School of Medicine. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. I could list many other monotonous facts ‘about me’, but I want to get to the core of this platform. When I peer through the looking glass, I see light. However, that was not always my view. I see a woman who has experienced much pain, loss, self-doubt and criticism, but whose resilience outweighs all of these trials on their worst day. I see a beautiful woman of God, whose warmth beams from the inside out. I see a woman who opens herself up daily to the journey of confronting hard truths in order to uncover more pure and meaningful realities. And beyond this, when I look through the looking glass, I see you. I see space for us to stand together as we gaze at our reflection and become more self-aware of our power and strength. WE are extensions of each other. So, let us peer through the looking glass together as we ensure that the reflections we see are accurate and aligned with who we really are.
